We have volunteered to take up the maintenance of a very useful Drupal module - Search404. As of today we are the official maintainers of this very useful Drupal module. We know that this is going to be a challenge for us, being a young company and with a young team. But we do feel that it is our responsibility to give back to the Drupal community at least some part of what it has given us.

Request CD/DVD is a service rendered by Zyxware Technologies as a step to promote the use of various Free and Open Source Softwares (FOSS) and GNU/Linux. This service allows people with bandwidth limitations to order Free Software CDs and DVDs from us. We will download the software, if we do not already have the software, and send it to the customer by VPL. The following are the different steps involved in the process.

We have added a few new modules to our site recently. Two of these are the StumbleThis module and the DiggThis module. Drupal already had a DiggThis module available for download but there was no StumbleThis module. StumbleUpon has been a popular source of traffic for zyxware.com and we wanted users to have an option to add any of our pages to their StumbleUpon favorites. So we created our own StumbleUpon module.

There are some things about running a company that you never think about until you run one. Some of these might look so insignificant and irrelevant in running a company that you would want to put them in the low priority list. One simple example is the need for a logo and a corporate motto. You can start a company without either of these. However as the company grows the need for these two slowly emerges.

Recently we came across a virus in one of our customers computers. The system was brought in with the complaint that it was running very slow and internet access was too slow to be of any use. We scanned the system with AVG and as was expected found a slew of viruses which AVG removed successfully after a complete scan. All but one - a file named startdrv.exe located at C:\Windows\Temp\startdrv.exe. AVG could not delete the file, neither could we delete it manually from Windows.

The Indian Linux User Group Trivandrum chapter(ilug-tvm) had been lying dormant for quite some time. However there has been a burst of activity within the group during the last two months. A few Linux enthusiasts including some of our own staff has decided that enough is enough and have successfully conducted ilug meetings for the last two months. The response has been very positive from the Linux Community. Zyxware Technologies as a company has decided to support this movement in whatever way we can, to keep this movement going.

We are happy to announce total support for Ubuntu for users across India. We have been successfully offering this to our customers in Trivandrum for the last one year and we would like to extend it to all Ubuntu Users in India. Our technical team will assist you over the internet either via chat, telephone or ssh to troubleshoot your Ubuntu related issues.

We are happy to announce that our open source application, The Health Monitoring System was dedicated to the nation by Hon'ble Health Minister of Kerala, Smt. P K Sreemathi Teacher by accepting the first copy of the application from Zyxware's CEO Mr. Anoop John on 5th October, 2007. The function was held at the minister's office.

A new software developed by Zyxware Technologies all about to revolutionize the way information is collected and processed in tracking diseases like Chikungunya, Dengue, Malaria. The software, is being dedicated to the nation as Free Software under the GNU General Public License (GPL) on 5th October 2007. The first copy of the software will be handed over to the Hon'ble Minister for Health Smt. P. K. Sreemathi Teacher in a function to be held at the minister's office.

Ubuntu 6.10 had complete multimedia support including mp3, video cds, dvds. This was taken out in 7.10 because of license restrictions on the decoders and their incompatibility with the GNU GPL under which Ubuntu is being released. Enabling multimedia support for formats requiring non-GPL codecs in Ubuntu 7.04 was a pain. This is now child's play in Ubuntu 7.10

We are offering highly competitive rates for all the TLDs (Top Level Domains). The site currently allows users to check availability of domain names and register them online. Online payment feature will soon be made available. As of now users will have to make a payment through ICICI Bank, SBI, Demand Drafts or Cheques.

One of the supposed limitations of Linux touted by the opponents of this wonderful operating system is again its supposed hardware incompatibilities. This is far from the reality but it has to be stated that there are indeed some hardware that are not fully compatible with Linux. If you happen to accidentally buy a computer that is not fully Linux supported or one that has to be configured manually and if you are not fluent in Linux you might find it very difficult to get your hardware working in Linux. But not anymore, we are proudly offering our computers built with fully Linux compatible hardware and pre-installed with the latest release of Ubuntu.
