
TheDropTimes (TDT), a Drupal-focused news portal, sought an efficient and automated way to manage and distribute newsletters. To address this, a system was developed using Drupal and Mailchimp, leveraging RSS feeds for content automation.
The solution enabled the editorial team to create structured newsletters within Drupal, incorporating both original and referenced content. A custom RSS feed view was built to support Mailchimp’s RSS-to-Email automation, ensuring seamless formatting and scheduling. The Mailchimp template was customized for optimal rendering, and subscriber management was improved through integrated sign-up forms and OptinMonster popups.
The result was a fully automated, GDPR-compliant newsletter system that reduced editorial workload, improved engagement, and increased subscription rates. This approach offers a scalable solution for any Drupal site seeking efficient, automated newsletter distribution.
