We were fortunate to be part of ‘DrupalSouth 2018’ – the longest standing Drupal conference in the Asia-pacific region.  The two-day event was held at Hotel Realm in Canberra on its tenth-year anniversary. This year’s event was of special significance since the past attendees of DrupalGov and DrupalSouth came together for this event – increasing the attendee list, to over 500 participants.  Drupal experts gave away technical sessions with ease and revealed few of the latest APIs and tools that could be integrated, expanding the possibilities with Drupal. The expert sessions involved dedicated tracks on back-end development, front-end development, UX, content management, DevOps, security and project management, all of which were of much interest to us.  The 'Birds of a feather' session, where Drupal enthusiasts, question without a pre-planned agenda brought forth some interesting conversations. We were able to meet up with few of our long-standing well-wishers, and many key influencers – all excited at the evolution and future of Drupal. April 9, 2018: The 2018 DrupalCon is all set to start today at Music City, Nashville, Tennessee. The event will be flagged off by the customary keynote address by Drupal founder- Dries Buytaert. Zyxware’s founder and CTO, Anoop John will be attending the conference on behalf of the company. The week-long conference starting today the 9th of April to Friday, the 13th of April is packed with Session Tracks, BOF (Birds of Feather), Sprints, Summits and Training Courses. It will be an exciting time for all attendees to reconnect and meet new Drupalists! There are a lot of collaboration and contribution opportunities including code contributions, discussions, documentation, project management and even mentoring opportunities. Co-ordinated and conducted by the Drupal Association, DrupalCon events are a veritable powerhouse of who’s who in the Drupal world including expert Drupal developers, content strategists, digital marketers and other allied service personnel. It is a great platform to discuss and hear about new initiatives related to Drupal, especially digital transformations. Anoop John, Founder and CTO of Zyxware has moved to the US to set up the operations of the US subsidiary and build a team for the US subsidiary. Dries Buytaert the founder of Drupal acknowledged the contributory work of the key individuals and companies that make Drupal a strong and vibrant Open Source community. Dries named Zyxware technologies as the top tenth contributor globally to Drupal. As an update to last year’s study, Dries acknowledged in his recent blog contributions of 2017: Contributions in terms of “who develops Drupal, how much work is sponsored, and where that sponsorship comes from”. The top 30 contributing organizations based on the number of Drupal.org commit credits. Source Drupal is secure and robust due to the large scale contributions from the Drupal Community be it code contributions, translations, documentation, design etc. Drupal.org acknowledges contributions from the community to Drupal by giving credits. Issue credits are awarded by maintainers of Drupal modules, themes, and distributions to those who help in it. Accumulating credits provide individual contributors and companies a way to showcase their expertise and visibility. A key point that Dries mentioned in his blog is the increase in the number of people contributing and the number of organizations contributing. Drupal.org received code contributors from 7240 different individuals and 889 different organizations this year. This is a testament to Drupal’s growth and potential. On Monday, August 14 2017, Acquia announced the finalists for the 2017 Acquia Engage Awards in the 17 categories listed including Digital Experience, Brand Experience, Commerce etc. Zyxware Technologies takes pride in being named a finalist in the category of Commerce for our work on Audeze. Audeze, manufacturer and seller of high fidelity headphones are worthy partners who know the significance of the digital market and the value of a highly visible and user centric website. Zyxware bags the First Prize for the Pookkalam (Floral Carpet) Competition during the Aarpoo Irroo Onam celebrations in Technopark on August 17th, 2017. Thirty organizations participated in the competition with a spirit of team camaraderie and fun-filled rivalry. The Zyxware team made an elaborate floral carpet embedding a farmer ploughing in a setting Sun background signifying a farmer’s contribution to the prosperity of harvest season which heralds the Onam celebrations in Kerala. Our pookkalam paid homage to the hardworking farmer whose bountiful returns fills our stomachs, giving the strength and vitality we need. The event was co-ordinated by Natana, a GTech initiative. G Tech Secretary, Mr Vijay Kumar presented the trophy to Zyxware Technologies for the Pookkulam with a cash award of Rs 8000/-. We also made it into the final round of the Maveli contest. The other events included Tug of War, Grand Onam Procession, Singari Melam, Pulikali, Naadan Pattu, and other Onam games.
