Compaq Presario CQ40-108TU was launched by HP-Compaq some times in October, 2008. We have received many enquiries regarding installation Windows XP in this machine. Installing Windows XP was not possible at all. There are quite a lot of people who are facing problems with installing Windows XP in this laptop. Here is a solution provided by the manufacturer to rectify this issue. There is no guarantee that this will work perfectly. We have not tried these steps yet. If you are trying to, it is purely at your own risk.

Compaq Presario V3702AU is an AMD based machine with an AMD Turion processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB Hard Disk, DVD Writer, 14.1" WideScreen Display, built-in webcam and more. This machine comes pre-installed with Windows Vista operating system. In case you want to install Windows XP, you may do so, provided you get all the drivers ready with you. Compaq Presario C785TU laptop is an Intel based laptop with a Core 2 Duo processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Disk, DVD Burner, 15.4" display, Wireless and so on. The factory installed operating System is FreeDOS. You will have to install an operating system inorder to work in this machine. This machine is designed for Windows Vista. Zyxware technologies joins hands once again with GNU/Linux Users Group Trivandrum to organize the third install fest of the year in Trivandrum.
