Recently we had to provide support on a Red Hat Server where there were hundreds of users and the user directories organized into hierarchies. Normally we change to a users directory using cd ~username. We had some extra time on our hands and wanted to play with the /etc/passwd file and tried to use awk to do the same thing. The following one liner will do this the hard way :-)

This system is pre-install with FreeDOS and you need to install an operating system so as to work on it. You will not find any issue in installing GNU/Linux Operating System into this machine. But installing Windows XP would be a problem as HP-Compaq does not support use of any kind of Windows in any of their machines. They support only Vista. Acer India released prices of Acer Aspire One netbooks for the month of December. These are based on Intel Atom platform with an Intel Atom N270 processor (1.6 GHz). HP-Compaq announced prices of their Pavilion range of laptops for the month of December 2008. There is a slight increase in price as a result of the present market condition.
