The minimum things you should know about Stock Tickers as a Web Tester

| | 1 min read

Stock tickers are representations of companies enlisted on the stock market. Any website which deals with the stock related content is bond to use stock tickers in one form or the other. Stock ticker is normally less than 5 characters in length and written in upper case. They are usually clickable and on clicking those, people are directed to a listing of all content related to that stock ticker.

In Drupal, stock tickers are usually indicated using the tagging system (click here to read more about how to test Drupal Tagging System). Another information that is closely associated and shown with stock tickers is the stock exchange information. When speaking about a particular stock exchange it is usually denoted as EXCHANGE SHORT CODE:STOCK TICKER. For example, NYSE:GOOG where NYSE stands for New York stock exchange and GOOG stands for the stock ticker of Google.

These are just the bare minimum information to get you going. Hope you find this useful somewhere in your testing career.
