How to remove repeating headers of a merged CSV file in Libre office calc?

When we combine different CSV files using ‘cat’ command, the resulting CSV file contain repeating headers. This usually happens when we combine different CSV files having the same headers. Let us check a simple method to remove the repeating headers in Libre office - Calc document.

Please go through the below steps to remove the repeating headers.

  1. First, add a column in the beginning of the Calc document.
  2. Insert row number excluding the first row (Suppose it contain the titles)
  3. Insert first two numbers.
  4. Then select the two values.
  5. Move the mouse to the right end.
  6. Double Click it. (This will insert numbers up to the end of your document)
  7. Then sort columns based on any column (This will group the repeating headings together). Data » Sort » Ascending
  8. Delete the unwanted headings
  9. Select the document excluding the first row.
  10. Again, sort the document based on the first column.
  11. Then remove the column we created for sorting purpose.
