According to the latest rankings displayed in drupal.org, Zyxware Technologies recently overtook its nearest competitor to earn the top spot in Drupal.org as the highest contributor to Drupal from India. This has also resulted in improved global rankings in Drupal.org positioning us as one of the top 5 contributors in Drupal from all the companies across the globe. The rankings are based on the number of issue credits received by all contributors working on behalf of Zyxware in drupal.org for the past 3 months. The number of credits reflects the efforts we have put in both our own 59 projects as well as third party modules including the Drupal core. There are currently around 69 registered companies from India actively contributing back to Drupal. We have been proactively working to contribute back to the Drupal community for close to a decade and we have recently stepped up our contribution activities in the past two years which have led to around 59 projects. Our top modules are Search404 and Disable Messages used by around 50,000 sites. We have been continuously tweaking our approach to contributions. As it stands there is no dedicated team to manage contributions. All our developers are encouraged to make contributions while working in commercial and internal projects resulting in new modules addressing a specific need to patches with bug fixes or improvements to the existing code base. We are happy to announce that Zyxware is now a Featured Service Provider on Drupal.org, a select club of Drupal providers with only another 4 members from India. This is a recognition of our contributions to Drupal over these years. We thank all our employees who have helped make this possible through their sustained contributions and members of the Drupal community who have guided, mentored and helped us as we grew in the Drupal space. One of the key reasons why we chose Drupal as our platform for delivering web based solutions was the freedom that Drupal gave to contribute back to the system. Another reason was the great community around the software. We have been true to the spirit of Drupal community and have been contributing extensively through code and other promotional activities. In recognition of our sustained contributions over these years we have been selected to be listed as a featured service provider on Drupal.org. Zyxware Technologies was born out of a vision to contribute to the formation of a compassionate and just society. Aligned to this we have been contributing back directly and indirectly through our commercial and non-commercial activities in all our operations. We have been contributing code, opening up our internal tools and documentation, assisting and supporting people, guiding and helping other small companies, contributing to community projects, training and building competent individuals through our operations. We have always tried to follow a policy of compete to contribute. One of the key parameters around which we competed in the market has been on how well we contribute back compared to other providers. Through our regular and sustained Free Software contributions we have emerged as one of a handful of well recognized Free Software companies in the state of Kerala. With this recognition from the Drupal community we once again reaffirm our commitment to the philosophy of Free Software and to the Drupal community and we will strive to continue to contribute back to Drupal and to Free Software in general with even more focus and vigor. We have created and released a new module Boost Captcha to allow static page caching of pages with forms with captcha without running into the captcha session timeout errors. By helping boost cache more pages the module will allow for better performance without compromising on spam protection. The module loads the captcha in the form through an additional AHAH request once the user starts filling in the form. So if the user does not fill in the form the captcha will not be reloaded thus avoiding the additional bootstrap. The additional bootstrap will only be used when users fill the form. This is as opposed to the option of completely not caching the page at all. Typically when pages are statically cached for very long periods of time (longer than 24 hrs) the captcha session for the generated captcha in the form will expire and causing the form submission to result in a "CAPTCHA session reuse attack detected" error. Although the module is named boost captcha which is where we have run into this problem the most, the module should work well with any static page caching scenarios where the pages are to be cached for very long periods of time. You can read more about the working of the module at the Boost Captcha module page. Do try out the module and let us know via the Drupal issue queue if there are issues - https://drupal.org/project/issues/boost_captcha Drupal Free Software Drupal Modules Drupal Performance Boost Drupal Contributions Drupalgive Captcha Spam Prevention Leave a reply Your email address will not be published. We had recently worked with a client of ours to help port the Drupal 6 version of the Moneris Payment Gateway module for Drupal to Drupal 7. Moneris is a popular payment gateway in Canada. The upgraded module has been submitted in an issue under the Moneris issue queue - https://drupal.org/node/1276770. Once it is tested and verified by the community the maintainer will be pushing the code to the repository. The upgraded module currently does not support recurring subscriptions. If there are users who are looking to get recurring payment support enabled for Moneris in Drupal 7 we will be happy to help with the development and maintenance of the same. We would require that you allow us to contribute these changes back to Drupal.org :) Drupal Drupal 6 Drupal Modules Drupal Upgrade Drupal 7 Drupal Contributions Drupalgive Leave a reply Your email address will not be published. We have released a new Drupal module to fight spam - Spam Blackhole. This is a simple module to fight automated spam submissions on Drupal sites by bots that are not manually supervised. The module requires that Javascript is enabled on the site that is running the module. The module works by replacing the form action with a dummy URL while the form is generated from Drupal and then replacing the dummy URL with the actual URL when the user clicks the form submit button. All spam submissions from bots that are not intelligent will go to a blackhole (a domain that does not exist) thereby not requiring your Drupal site to bootstrap just to process some spam message. Do check out the module and post in your feedback. You can post support issues under the issue queue - https://drupal.org/project/issues/spam_blackhole Drupal Free Software Drupal Contributions Drupalgive Leave a reply Your email address will not be published.
