Pinguy OS 14.04 is an Ubuntu-based desktop Linux distribution with a customised GNOME Shell desktop. Known bugs: selecting auto login in the installer does not work - I had to disable it so the live session would auto login; Apturl is broken, this is an issue with Ubuntu; to make the distro work with GNOME 3.12 I had to add restore extensions to start-ups - this forces the extensions to start; if you use symbols in your password make sure you pick the correct keyboard; in Firefox some of the add-ons are disabled, just run add-on update to enable them. About Pinguy OS Pinguy OS is an Ubuntu-based distribution targeted at beginning Linux users. It features numerous user-friendly enhancements, out-of-the-box support for multimedia codecs and browser plugins, a heavily tweaked GNOME user interface with enhanced menus, panels and dockbars, and a careful selection of popular desktop applications for many common computing tasks. Pidora is a Linux distribution designed for the Raspberry Pi single-board computer and based on Fedora 20. It offers an interesting and more modern alternative to the mostly Debian-based distributions that dominated the Raspberry Pi market. It is based on a brand new build of Fedora for the ARMv6 architecture with greater speed and it includes packages from the Fedora 20 package set. There are some interesting new features we'd like to highlight: rootfs-resize now works with logical partitions; Raspberry Pi kernel-devel package has been added; new Pidora 2014 splash screen and logos; improved headless mode can be used with setups lacking a monitor or display; much faster boot speed... About Pidora Pidora is a Linux software distribution for the Raspberry Pi computer. It contains software packages from the Fedora project compiled for the ARMv6 architecture used on the Raspberry Pi, packages which have been specifically written for or modified for the Raspberry Pi, and software provided by the Raspberry Pi Foundation for device access. Debian 7.5 is the fifth update of its stable distribution Debian 7 (codename "wheezy"). This update mainly adds corrections for security problems to the stable release, along with a few adjustments for serious problems. Please note that this update does not constitute a new version of Debian 7 but only updates some of the packages included. There is no need to throw away old "wheezy" CDs or DVDs but only to update via an up-to-date Debian mirror after an installation, to cause any out of date packages to be updated. OpenELEC 4.0 is a major new update of the distribution designed for media centres and built for several specialist devices, such as Raspberry Pi and Apple TV. Since OpenELEC 3.2 the underlying OS and the build system have been completely reworked. One aspect of the builds that isn’t visible to most users is the buildsystem; it is one of the most fundamental building blocks for OpenELEC. It provides us the flexibility to support many different build platforms, to be responsive in updating specific packages and to add new features easily. About OpenELEC OpenELEC is a Linux-based embedded operating system built specifically to run XBMC, the open source entertainment media hub. The idea behind OpenELEC is to allow people to use their Home Theatre PC (HTPC) like any other device one might have attached to a TV, like a DVD player or Sky box. Instead of having to manage a full operating system, configure it and install the packages required to turn it into a hybrid media center, OpenELEC is designed to be simple to install, manage and use, making it more like running a set-top box than a full-blown computer. Tails is a Debian-based distribution known for its strong privacy features and pre-configured for anonymous web browsing, has reached version 1.0. Tails 1.0 marks the 36th stable release since then. Since then we have been working on the many features we think are essential both in terms of security and usability: USB installer; automatic upgrades; persistence; support for Tor bridges and other special Tor configuration; MAC address spoofing; extensive and translated documentation. About Tails The Amnesic Incognito Live System (Tails) is a Debian-based live CD/USB with the goal of providing complete Internet anonymity for the user. The product ships with several Internet applications, including web browser, IRC client, mail client and instant messenger, all pre-configured with security in mind and with all traffic anonymised. To achieve this, Incognito uses the Tor network to make Internet traffic very hard to trace.
