The recently held GNU/Linux Install fest in Trivandrum was a grand success in terms of reaching out to the masses. People turned out in good numbers for fest and many came and installed different flavors of GNU/Linux on their systems. The most popular distros were Ubuntu and Fedora. Some of the people who could not bring their systems signed up to have GNU/Linux installed on their systems at homes. Print and Radio media covered the event generously.
Both of the prominent English dailies - The Hindu and The New Indian Express - spared nothing in writing about the event. You can read more at

You can read more about the event at the GNU/Linux Users Group Website. If you are interested in trying out GNU/Linux or any other free software you can sign up at GNU/Linux Users Group Trivandrum Mailinglist. GLUG volunteers will be more than happy to help you out with your issues.
