One of the more cried about limitations of Drupal has been the seeming lack of quality themes. Wordpress, another popular CMS framework, has a vibrant design community and therefor has some breathtaking themes. Additionally all themes published on Wordpress.org are GPLed. We have taken one of the recently created wordpress themes - icandy - and have ported this to Drupal and have contributed it to the community. You can see the Drupal icandy theme here

We have been working with Drupal for quite some time and we have been converting all types of designs from Photoshop designs to XHTML templates into Drupal themes. All along we have been crying out loud that we can convert any design into a Drupal theme. Of late we have started putting some effort into creating material proof for our statements. One such proof is this theme. In addition to showing the power of wordpress and drupal this also demonstrates the power of Free Software. We were able to take the wordpress theme and convert it into a Drupal theme only because the wordpress theme was released under GPL in the first place.
