Newer and faster (and of course costlier) components have been replacing the older and slower components. What effectively happens is that better components become available for the same prices. We are publishing here the latest prices for four of the common desktop PC configurations that people often go for.

If you look at our last published reference prices of computers you can see that the price slabs have not changed much and much faster components are available in the same price slabs. These are the published prices as of March 7, 2009 and should only be used as a reference price in fixing your configuration. The current prices would have changed after this article was published.
