To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

And then install Audio driver:

Download Sound.zip file from 'Save file to your PC: click here' at right bottom of the website.
Extract the downloaded zip file to a folder on hard drive.
Installing this driver may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse, Choose the location where you have saved the extracted folder.
8. Open the folder and choose the .inf file listed.
9. Ignore any errors you receive and proceed with the installation.

I recently brought a HP Compaq c773TU and installed XP in it. But till now I couldn't bring up the conexant HD audio driver, though I tried many drivers all over from the net. I tried the links suggested earlier in this message thread also , but with little avail. Can you please suggest some workaround to use XP itself?

i am having problems in mic of my compaq 772 tu model,i tried the way u people hav posted in your site(manually),still the mic of the laptop isnot working.ihave windows xp with service pack 2 installed in my laptop.Apart from this i am facing problems in playing DVD also.most of the DVD(6 out of 10)shows blank while the same dvd plays in even the local DVD players.so do i assume that DVD player of my laptop is worse than local DVD players??do i go to service centre for these problems?kindly help me if there is any way.

I recently purchased a compaq presario C772TU laptop. Its wirless LAN is not working properly. In vista also, Iam not able to see the wireless lan driver( in the device manager).I installed the drivers provided by XP ie.. Intel PRO/Wireless Drivers for Microsoft Windows Vista and Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista . But still its not working.

In my compaq presario c772 TU laptop ,Iam not able to use wireless LAN. In the device manager, under network adapters only Realtech LAN driver is shown. I cant see any wireless adapters there.
Is wirless adpter same as" Ethernet Controller" .One of the user has asked to right click on Ethernet Controller and update driver. Is it the right method. Or is there any problem with my hardware?
Usually under what catagory/by name does wirless lan driver appear in device manager.

Thanks for the other drivers. My presario is a C700 C772TU model. It has ALL the h/w specifications that you list here EXCEPT my processor, which is Intel Dual Core Processor (1.73 GHz). FYI...I have a Intel 965 GV motherboard (my vendor had told me that i had a 945 GV by mistake.) I have been searching for the network adapter driver for over a month now but can't find any driver for the same. Even this one given here didn't work. Please help.

Please is there another link for sound.zip (sound driver for C772TU). The one on this page only saves an invalid zip archieve to the hard disk.
