Compaq Presario C708LA Laptop Drivers for Windows XP

Presario C708LA is another model of laptop from HP-Compaq. This is an Intel Core Duo based machine with a speed of 1.46GHz, 1GB DDR II RAM, 120GB HardDisk, 15.4" WideScreen, Modem, LAN, Wifi, 3 USB ports and it comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Basic Edition. Drivers for Windows xp are not available from company's website. We have provided all the links here. Neither Zyxware nor HP gives you any guarantee that these drivers will work perfectly in your laptop for Windows XP, as these laptops are designed to work with Windows Vista. Moreover, these drivers are not tested for Windows XP.

Installation Instructions :
1. Download the spXXXXX.EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

C708la wifi drivers/manager

Dear Sirs,

I downgraded my compaq C708LA from Vista to XP. However I have been having troubles with wifi connection. I can not find how to connecto to a wifi net. I mean there is a button for turning on wireless antenna and it would go from red (disabled) to blue (on). No matter how many times I tried but i just can not put the antenna in blue (on). I downloaded your link Intel Pro Wireless Driver and broadcomm
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33001-33500/sp33404.exe. and installed but i still have no connection to my wifi (light continues in red). Do you have a link to wifi manager for C708LA? or something that helps with this issue...

Wireless problem with Compaq Presario C708LA

Hi,

Did you try installing the driver using the device manager settings ? Please try that.
If that does not work, try alternate wireless drivers from other laptops under C700 series. All generally contain similar hardware. You can try Broadcom and Atheros wireless drivers from those in the given series.

Could you please provide me with the model number, serial number and product number of your laptop. You will find these on the bottom side of your machine. We need these number in order to fetch links for you.

Connecting laptops to projector

Did you try restarting the system? Normally BIOS would make the switch for you. If you are using Windows you should also see a second monitor in your Display Properties dialog box.

VGA output problem

Were you facing this problem before, or were you using the laptop with projector before you had problem with VGA?
If this is the first time connecting to the projector, then you need to change some settings. Go to "Display Properties" in Start Menu-->Control Panel. Click the Advanced tab and select the screen given in it with number '2'. Below it, you will find a check box saying "Extend my desktop to this monitor/screen". Check that and select appropriate resolution and then click Apply and OK. You should be able to view objects on the projector.
Some laptops have similar settings which can be configured using the utility for graphics hardware.

Hi...i have a compaq presario c708la..and i have some troubles with the links...the link of UAA Universal audio arquitecture doesn't work..i look in the ftp directions..and the sp33867.exe it's not there!..i need that to install the audio!..other thing i have problem with a bus pci that ask something call drvbrc..the laptop don't reconize a bus pci and a unknowegde device!..please put the right links to AUU...and thank you so much for all you help..
