Compaq Presario V3172AU Laptop Drivers for Windows XP

Another model of laptop in HP-Compaq's Presario V3000 series product line is Presario V3172AU. The manufacturer has stopped shipping driver CDs along with the box. In their website, you can find all drivers of the same laptop for Windows Vista. They do not provide drivers for Windows XP. You will not be able to install XP without proper drivers. Here are the list of drivers of Presario V3172AU laptop. We strongly recommend that you get a legal and licensed copy of Windows if you are planning to install it.

Before installing audio driver, download and install the UAA Driver from the following link:

another solution for solving headset problem.

hai, i hav compaq V3412TU and hav the same headset and internal speaker problem. This is my sincere help that i wanna giv back to this cyber community as one of the guy from one of the forgotten wedsite has just solve my 3 years problem. The simple solution is download the sp32646 and then sp34200 from HP website. Then install sp32646 normally then in the sp34200, go have disc place and select the item with the .inf behind. It should be look like xxx.inf. select it and install it and hav a nice day with ur headset. Or for a more simple and quick solution, get a external USB sound card or sound adaptor.

Have a nice day watching movie without disturbing others and conclusion is, Compaq suck. Good Luck.

VGA display driver for Compaq V3000 series downgraded to XP Sp2

Hi There
Thanks for all th driver support. From this and many other sites i have managed to locate all but one driver for my recently downgraded Compaq laptop. It now has Xp SP2 from its original Vista. The only driver which is not getting installed properly is the Nvidia Ge force driver for the display and because of this the display is quite unclear. When i try manually locating the downloaded driver files(I have tried around 30 by now), it just shuts down after a FAST blue screen error. Any suggestions?

problems on presario V3712au when downgrading vista to xp

I saw many of you facing only problem with Microphone.

But I couldn't able to find the drivers for

AUDIO,
Touchpad,
Ethernet controller,
NVIDIA Graphics.

I have tried with above drivers given for V3172AU, but I doesn't work for my laptop. I'm getting error message as "Hardware was not installed........." when i tried to install SP32646 & SP34386.

I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit for my Presario V3717AU. But I cannot connect to the internet using cable connection. However my wireless is working properly. Drivers issues with Compaq Presario V3717AU

Regarding Coprocessor and SM Bus controller, you need to try installing the chipset driver which you will have to download from HP's website. As you are using Windows Vista, the drivers are given in company's website itself.
All all other drivers working perfect for you - audio, modem, graphics etc?
I believe this laptop came preinstalled with Windows Vista?

There are no drivers specifically for microphone. This is one problem faced by many users. I guess it is because of driver version problems. The new hardware versions does not match with the driver versions of XP. Kindly visit our comment on Microphone problem solving technique. This comment was written for another model of laptop, but I guess the procedures must be the same. Please try it one and let me know what happens.
