Compaq Presario C707TU Laptop Drivers

HP-Compaq has got a Presario Model laptop with model No. Presario C707TU. It is equipped with Intel Pentium Dual Core processor (1.73 MHz), 512 MB DDR II RAM, 120 GB SATA HDD, DVD Super Multi Dual Layer Burner and other features.

The drivers for the same for use for Windows XP is not available in the company's website. You can use their Online Chat system to talk to their executive and get links to these drivers.

This model of Presario has an audio controller that supports the high definition audio. You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver.

Have you made a Recovery copy of your Vista? If not, one options for you is to contact the company and inform them that you had accidentally formatted the entire hard disk.
By the way, have you partitioned the entire hard disk, including the Recovery Partition?

Alternative method to install audio driver for Compaq C707TU

just try this
1. first run UAA and then audio driver
2. goto control panel select add/remove hardware and select next then select yes I have already connected the hardware then select ADD new hardware and then select audio, vedio and game control from list and search manually for driver and give the path of Audio driver from the folder where it had been extracted and install( at this movement you will get the message that media device is not found)
3. then again goto control pannel and select sound and audio devices from there and in the hardware tab of you will see the unistalled driver then double click on that and on new window on driver tab you update the driver from location you specify.

try this if still you are not able to perform the task then mail me on johnty_alawat at rediffmail.com

Audio problem in Compaq Presario V6409TU

Dear Himanshu,

This is one common problem faced by many Compaq laptop users. When you plug in your headphone, you will hear sound from both the headphone and the laptop speakers. If you have noticed, the microphone will not work. This is not a hardware problem. What I believe is that this is a problem with version of drivers. As the new laptops are designed to work with Windows Vista, the hardware present are of newer versions and they require drivers with newer versions. As the links given in our site or those proved else where for Windows XP are of older versions, there are possibilities for various kinds of incompatibility like you have now. The manufacturer will ask you to try out alternate drivers. And if you are fortunate you might get a driver that is compatible with your laptop.

dude just connect the net from laptop and in device manager right click and select update driver it will take driver from net. Go To My Computer ---> Properties --->Device Manager ---> HD Audio Data for Modem (First update it and then after that)---->Conexant High Definition Smart Audio---->Restart the system after the installation and enjoy

Are you sure FUJITSU MHY2120BH is a sound card? I guess it is a hard drive and i believe you are getting a "No hard disk present" error when you try to install Windows XP, right? It is a 2.5" SATA Mobile Hard Drive. You need to disable SATA hard disk settings in bios setup you are facing the same error. If not this, what is the error that you are getting?

There are no special drivers present for DVDRWs and HDDs. They just get automatically configured in Windows XP.

The drivers that are given here are for Presario C707TU, as you had mentioned. These might work if you try installing in other machines Its just a probability.

Here is the solution

If you have come to this page through search, chances are you are looking for solving the sound device driver issue. The driver that HP customer centre suggests fails to install and so does the modem. You can keep trying different audio driver to function with your system, but the maximum chances are that you wont find one. Here I would like to share my own experience how I managed to get everything running, without any extra effort.

Audio Driver failed to install

I downloaded and tried to intall "ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe" ( Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio Driver) drivers. But it doesn't install the driver. Likely, these drivers are corrupted. Can you help in that?
