Compaq Presario C702TU Laptop Drivers
It is surprising that HP cuts costs by not giving a driver CD with their entry level laptop models. However the end user can get online and chat with an HP representative through their online chat system to get ftp URLs (mostly) pointing to the right drivers. Here are the Windows XP drivers for Compaq Presario C702TU model laptop.

Can these drivers be used for V3702AU as well..? The only difference between V3702TU and V3702AU is that the latter one runs on a AMD Turion X2 processor..

Nothing can be said for sure regarding drivers. All you can do is to try various drivers. Some might work and some might not work. Even HP-Compaq does not give any guarantee that these would work well with Windows XP

Modem driver problem
Hi. I am having a problem with my modem driver.. sp36089. After installing it, it says "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MODEM device for this driver". Is it possible there is no modem at all? there's a phone jack.... hope somebody replies..

After installing modem and sound drivers, restart the system. Then you go to device manger and again select the specific driver and install manually.

The given drivers for Presario C702TU laptop are working fine, especially the ones posted on 21-N0v-2007 are more suitable than the above. Any one can download the given drivers. Conexant HDA soft modem drivers are not installing. We want all drivers with full zip version.
Drivers for HP/Compaq laptops.
These drivers are available as .exe files. They are available from HP-Compaq only and when you click these links, the drivers exe files will be downloaded from HP's ftp. There are no zip versions available.

Be sure not to install any slipstreamed(XP OS cd’s that already contain drivers) version of XP since they will fail on video and audio installation.(Though it would be fine to find a OS CD with only Intel SATA Slipstreamed for native SATA support)

After running the two Conexant packages above, the driver files will be extracted to C:\SWSetup\SPxxxxx. The automatic install program will fail but that is expected. Go to Control Panel > Device Manager. Single right-click on the ‘unknown’ audio device and select “Update Driver”. From the Hardware Update wizard:
Select ‘no, not this time’ when asked to connect to the internet, click next.
Select ‘install from a specific location’ (advanced), click next.
Select ‘Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install’, click next.
In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers, click next.
In the resulting dialogue box, click Have Disk.
Browse to the folder where SP36090 was extracted (e.g. C:\SWSetup\SP36090) and select CpV30D5a.inf, click OK
In the next dialogue, select Conexant High Definition Audio-Venice 5045. If you receive a warning that Windows cannot verify compatibility with this drive, select ‘Proceed’ or ‘Ignore’ (or whatever option that allows you to continue installing the driver).
When the driver is finished installing, restart your PC. Do the same thing for the modem, except the extraction folder will be C:\SWSetup\SP36089 and the INF is SprtHD5m.inf.
Restart and you should be good.
If you still have an ‘unknown’ PCI device, it is your touchpad and Quick Launch buttons. If you install the software for Quick Launch Buttons, the ‘unknown’ PCI device will go away, as well.

Hello brother, I don't know how I say thanks to you. I was experiencing the problem with my c702tu laptop for almost 6 months. As I'm a web designer (I'm an engineering student too), I had to connect my laptop to internet for almost 15 hours a day. So I had to format my PC in every week due to virus threats. I don't know how much money I've spended for installing audio drivers. Every week I loose 250 Rs. for this purpose. I could find drivers for my laptop in many sites.
