I have purchased this laptop less than 2 years ago. It was working fine till about 3 months ago since when my audio has completely vanished from the system. I was told that this could be caused by virus. I had the laptop cleaned and virus scanned. The audio still does not work. When I tried to instal it from your above internet links the message has come that this system does not have a media player to support the wizard. Now, how do you propose I should proceed to cope with this problem and set it right? Please provide the links so that this system starts functioning fine like it has done over the last 1 1/2 years ago.

hi, i have been trying to install UAA driver in C702TU but is unable to do it...when i run setup for uaa then it terminates in the middle....it terminates while setting up installation wizard..i have tried 32646.exe for the purpose..as setup is not running properly so UAA is not reflecting in Device manager...please provide me the reason and solution for the same

My laptop is asking for a driver for SM Bus controller. I have loaded the other drivers already. Can anyone suggest a solution ?

The given drivers for Presario C702TU laptop are working fine, especially the ones posted on 21-N0v-2007 are more suitable than the above. Any one can download the given drivers. Conexant HDA soft modem drivers are not installing. We want all drivers with full zip version.

Be sure not to install any slipstreamed(XP OS cd’s that already contain drivers) version of XP since they will fail on video and audio installation.(Though it would be fine to find a OS CD with only Intel SATA Slipstreamed for native SATA support)
Heres a detailed instruction on how to install the drivers

Download and install Intel Chipset INF Utility:

After running the two Conexant packages above, the driver files will be extracted to C:\SWSetup\SPxxxxx. The automatic install program will fail but that is expected. Go to Control Panel > Device Manager. Single right-click on the ‘unknown’ audio device and select “Update Driver”. From the Hardware Update wizard:

Select ‘no, not this time’ when asked to connect to the internet, click next.

Select ‘install from a specific location’ (advanced), click next.

Select ‘Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install’, click next.

In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers, click next.

In the resulting dialogue box, click Have Disk.

Browse to the folder where SP36090 was extracted (e.g. C:\SWSetup\SP36090) and select CpV30D5a.inf, click OK

In the next dialogue, select Conexant High Definition Audio-Venice 5045. If you receive a warning that Windows cannot verify compatibility with this drive, select ‘Proceed’ or ‘Ignore’ (or whatever option that allows you to continue installing the driver).

When the driver is finished installing, restart your PC. Do the same thing for the modem, except the extraction folder will be C:\SWSetup\SP36089 and the INF is SprtHD5m.inf.

Restart and you should be good.

If you still have an ‘unknown’ PCI device, it is your touchpad and Quick Launch buttons. If you install the software for Quick Launch Buttons, the ‘unknown’ PCI device will go away, as well.
